George A. Sanger learned to pick guitar and bass back in '72, from Coronado Marching Band director and surf guitar legend Bob Demmon of The Astronauts. Inspired with a thirst for jamming and forming bands, George has loved teaching his friends to get up and playing quickly on those instruments ever since. That thirst led to a degree in composition from Occidental College. In the '80's, his band played the LA hot spots during the New Wave scene.
Sharon DuBois is a Jazz Artist who has been performing professionally since the age of 20 and teaching Jazz education and voice lessons for the past 8 years. DuBois has been writing songs since she was a teenager and plays piano and guitar.
Founding MCCM Director, Drew Decker, has a passion for teaching people to play music in groups. Having played professionally for many years, he learned how music can bring people together in powerful ways, and he has found in his two decades of teaching that the student who really stick with it and succeed are those in play with others.
Will Edwards is a full-time musician who began playing guitar so that he could be in a middle school band. Music became a lifelong passion and Will studied music at the university level - focusing on advanced music theory.
Janet Beazley is an accomplished bluegrass banjo player, singer, songwriter, and teacher. She is a founding member of Chris Stuart & Backcountry, a Bluegrass/Americana band that focuses on the original material of acclaimed songwriter Chris Stuart. CSB has toured extensively throughout the United States, Canada, the UK, Europe, and in the Middle East.
Luke is a San Diego-based professional touring musician who studied bass and guitar for 8 years under the tutelage of MCCM's own Drew Decker. Over the past few years, he has toured across the US extensively with his bands Elektric Voodoo and Rally Club and logged hundreds of studio hours as a session bass player.
James has over 20 years of teaching experience in public, private & charter schools, and for the last three years he has taught private lessons and group workshops, as well as teaching kids who have been through the Juvenile Court System in San Diego County.
A classically trained percussionist, Jeff began his study of music when he was fourteen and continued his study and training at Boise State University from 1979 to 1982 under Dr. John Baldwin. While in college, Jeff learned to play the guitar. At first, the guitar was just another instrument he needed to learn as a music educator, but soon it became about camp fires and sing-a-longs at the ski lodge. In a short time, the guitar became one of his best friends - and it’s lighter than a drum set!
Bari Zwirn is a self taught guitarist who especially enjoys teaching beginning musicians. Whether you're a young child who has never played before, or an adult who just wants to play camp fire "sing alongs", Bari is comfortable helping you coordinate strumming, chording and singing. Focus will be on keeping rhythm, finding your vocal key, and becoming comfortable with simple styles of playing.
A native of Chicago, IL, Ken started studying piano when he was in grade school, and he served as an accompanist for his high school choir. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN, where he studied piano with Arthur Campbelland organ with David N. Johnson and Paul Ensrud. He received his Master of Arts in Music History at San Diego State University, where he studied under the musicologist Jaroslav Mracek.
Mr. Rosati has been performing from European symphonies to Blues, R&B, Funk groups in Las Vegas venues, also Salsa and Latin/Brazilian music all the way to Jazz festivals across the U.S.A. Brazil, Europe and Japan.
He has collaborated with greats such as Santana, John Lee Hooker, Gregg Allman, The Checkmates, Bob Mintzer, Mariachi Universal, Ismael Miranda, Jose' Alberto el Canario, Perez Prado All Star etc...
